Chase Morning of Twentynine Palms is arrested for arson and vandalism

LOCATION: 1600 block Lee Chemical Drive, Cadiz
SUSPECT(S): Chase Morning, 36 years old, resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Monday, February 11, 2019, at approximately 10:09 hours, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to a remote area in Cadiz, which belongs to Tetra Technologies Inc, regarding a vandalism report. Deputies discovered numerous pieces of heavy equipment and buildings had been vandalized and set on fire. The damage was initially estimated in excess of $1.5 million. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Arson/Bomb Detail, as well as Detectives from the Colorado River Sheriff's Station, responded to the scene to conduct additional investigation. Detectives assigned to the Colorado River Sheriff's Station continued the investigation after obtaining minimal leads from the crime scene.
Following an extensive investigation, the suspect was identified as Chase Morning.
On Thursday, March 26, 2020, Chase Morning was arrested in Twentynine Palms for arson and felony vandalism. Morning was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with a bail set at $100,000.00, pending a court hearing.
