Statement on second confirmed COVID-19 Case in the Borough of Mountain Lakes
March 29, 2020
I am writing to again inform you that we have been advised by the Health Officer of an additional positive COVID-19 test of a Mountain Lakes resident.
This follows the first positive test of a resident which was reported on March 26, 2020 and brings our total confirmed cases to two (2).
Unfortunately, it is anticipated that the number of positive cases will continue to rise as testing becomes more readily available to the public. These increases should not create panic or overly alarm anyone, however, we must all take responsible actions.
As it is inevitable that the number of cases will continue to rise, it will be impossible for me to notify the Borough at large of every positive case. We will make every attempt to keep the Borough’s website up to date with the status of positive cases in Mountain Lakes.
I want to stress to every resident the importance of staying home with your family and eliminating contact with others outside your home. Social distancing is the only way in which to reduce your risk and exposure to contracting the virus. Should you exhibit any symptoms of illness, consult your personal healthcare provider to discuss treatment.
Working together, we will come though this, however we must all be vigilant in remaining apart for the time being.
Regards,
Mitchell Stern
