The Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force arrests a gang member with firearm

- 25850(c)(6) PC Possession of firearm, not the registered owner

- Canales, Ronald, 34 Year Old Pomona Resident
- Lozano, Jacob, 24 Year Old El Monte Resident
- Obert, Adryan, 29 Year Old El Monte Resident

On Sunday, March 29th, around 1:00 AM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were working gang suppression within the City of Pomona. Officers were in the area of the 2000 block of Las Vegas Av. Officers were working this area due to several complaints about gang activity from residents.
Officers noticed a group of subjects in the alley loitering near a stolen vehicle. Suspect Canales and Suspect Lozano were contacted near the vehicle. Suspect Obert was found hiding in a nearby garage, belonging to Canales. Officers conducted a search of the garage based on Obert’s probation terms. Inside the garage, Canales had attempted to conceal a loaded semi-automatic 9mm handgun. Canales was arrested for possession of the firearm, and Suspects Lozano and Obert were arrested for probation violations.
The City Of Pomona is dedicated to combating gang violence and will continue to use all available resources to ensure the safety of our residents.
