COVID-19: New Updates to City Operations as of Saturday, March 28

Updates to City operations since yesterday are highlighted in yellow.

Last updated on 3/28/20 - 7:00 p.m.

In response to the increasing concerns of COVID-19 throughout L.A. County, City of Duarte leaders are implementing temporary preventative measures in City operations effective immediately. Maintaining the health and safety of our residents is our first priority. The City is monitoring the situation and taking actions based on direction from the Safer at Home Order for Control of COVID-19Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order and the California Department of Health. The changes to operations will be in place through the end of April or until further notice. Please note that additional changes may occur as the situation is assessed.

At this time, the area that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health refers to as "Duarte" has two confirmed cases of COVID-19. "Duarte" is roughly a 39,700 population area encompassing the Cities of Duarte and Bradbury, and the unincorporated county regions of Monrovia, Arcadia, and Duarte.

Due to federal privacy laws, no additional information regarding the patient is available. The best course of action for all residents is to stay home when not conducting essential business, wash your hands and clean surfaces frequently, and practice social distancing (six feet between each person).
