Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.

On March 26 at approximately 9:30 p.m. members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 300 block of East 23^rd Street.   Upon making contact with the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana.  Police made contact with one of the occupants, 24-year-old Desmin Walker.  He was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun, which had an obliterated serial number.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Police also recovered 2 grams of marijuana.

Walker was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon with a Removed or Obliterated Serial Number
• Possession of a Weapon by a Person Prohibited who is also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Marijuana
