A message from Chief Sylvester:

We have received several inquiries over the last several days regarding the Shelter in Place Order. I want to clarify that the Sachse Police Department is not contacting members of the public or conducting vehicles stops based solely on determining whether or not a person is violating the Shelter in Place Order. Our officers will, however, continue to make stops and contacts relative to violations of traffic law and the Texas Penal Code. Our primary duty is protecting our public and keeping our officers healthy. Education, awareness, and voluntary compliance are what we are striving for with the Shelter in Place Order, with enforcement a last resort. We appreciate our residents’ efforts to comply with the Shelter in Place Order as we work together to flatten the curve and limit the spread of the virus in Sachse. Be safe and be well.
