LATEST SOUTH BRUNSWICK UPDATES: Middlesex County Health Department notified South Brunswick officials of the most recent positive cases in the Township. Health officials anticipate that we will continue to see an increase in cases over the coming days as more tests are conducted. In South Brunswick 3 residents tests came back positive today; a male in his 50's, a male in his 60's, and a female in her 60’s all are recovering at home.
SCHOOLS TO REMAIN CLOSED TILL AT LEAST APRIL 17th:
NJ Governor Murphy announced today that the decision to reopen school districts rests with him. He said, “We will not be prepared to revisit the closure until at least April 17th, at the very earliest. The decision to reopen will be based on careful discussion with our public health and safety experts, and with our educators and districts. We will be guided by the facts on the ground.”
REPORTING BUSINESS OPERATION VIOLATIONS: Governor Murphy asks that if you see a business operation in violation of his executive order, or are working at one, please report them at covid19.nj.gov/violation or dial 2-1-1.

Please be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Social Security cannot accept in-office appointments at this time. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, you may receive help via phone at 800-772-1213. NEW JERSEY LAUNCHES JOB PORTAL TO CONNECT OUT-OF-WORK RESIDENTS TO OPPORTUNITIES IN CRITICAL INDUSTRIES: Governor Murphy announced the launch of an online portal to connect New Jersey residents with jobs in critical industries responding to COVID-19. The jobs portal is available here: https://jobs.covid19.nj.gov. Employers in critical industries should submit information about openings with urgent hiring needs related to COVID19 here: https://jobs.covid19.nj.gov/intake.
UPDATES FROM THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT: New Jersey Department of Health announced that they have tested 20,537 people. 13,661 were negative and 6,876 were positive. They have issued guidelines for what to do for people who have tested positive for COVID 19. The guidelines are attached to the message as a PDF.
MENTAL HEALTH HELP: The NJ Mental Health Cares helpline offers support to individuals experiencing anxiety and worry related to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Residents can get support, talk to someone or get referrals by calling 1-866-202-HELP (4357). NJ Mental Health Cares will be answered from 8AM to 8PM, seven days a week by live trained specialists.
It is important to pay attention to one's mental and emotional well-being, along with physical health.
