MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR:  “The COVID-19 threat is deadly real. Today's increase in reported cases from Monroe is the result of our recently opened drive-up testing effort  as well as expanded testing throughout the state.  We should not be afraid of these test results and we must welcome it.  We need real facts to know what we are up against,” said Mayor Tamburro.

“What we know is that our mitigation efforts to shut down many public spaces last week was a critical move and we must all personally recommit to stay home at all costs. We are depending on each other more than ever to make sure we flatten the curve as soon as possible. I know we are all filled with anxiety and will be for some time.  But we can get through this, we must be kind to our neighbors and continue to lift each other up.”

MESSAGE FROM THE GOVERNOR:  “This isn’t a one-day or two-day thing.  COVID-19 can take up to two weeks to incubate.  It’s going to take several weeks, at least, for us to begin seeing a real impact from the social distancing measures we have put into place,” said Governor Murphy.
