PALOS VERDES ESTATES CLOSES PARKING AREAS TO HELP SLOW SPREAD OF COVID-19

Post Date:03/26/2020 12:43 PM

Palos Verdes Estates (March 26, 2020) - Over the weekend, Palos Verdes Estates Police personnel observed a high volume of visitors to City bluffs, beaches and trails despite the “Safer at Home” Public Health Officer Order calling for social distancing.  Local cities have taken steps to close their close parks, beaches and trails until further notice. Palos Verdes Estates will do the same.  Pursuant to PVEMC 2.28.140, effective Thursday, March 26, 2020, high impact areas will be closed and/or parking prohibited. This includes:

  • Closing the parking lot in 300 block of Paseo Del Mar (at Beach Club and R.A.T. Beach)
  • Prohibit parking in 700 block of Paseo Del Mar (at access road to Bluff Cove)
  • Closing the parking turnout in 1300 Palos Verdes Drive West (at Paseo Del Mar overlook)
  • Restricting parking in the 2700 block of Via Tejon to Via Tejon residents only
  • Closing the Torrance Boundary Strip trailhead at Palos Verdes Boulevard

The City recognizes the health and well-being of our residents and the public as a top priority and is committed to keeping them safe. We ask that everyone heed the Los Angeles County Public Health’s “Safer at Home” order regarding social distancing and only leave their homes for essential activities.  We all must do our part to “flatten the curve.”

“We will go to work for you, but please stay at home for us.”
