At 4:30 p.m. today (Thursday, March 26, 2020), Governor Henry McMaster is holding a press conference on coronavirus (COVID-19). We encourage Beaufort County residents and guests to watch. You can watch it through these links:

Social distancing and outdoor activities
 
As the weekend approaches, and to help prevent the spread and better protect yourself, your families and others from coronavirus (COVID-19), we urge you to adhere to CDC and DHEC recommendations of social distancing, staying six (6) feet apart, and the governor's executive order prohibiting groups of 3 or more people.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will maintain an increased presence on Beaufort County's (northern and southern Beaufort County, to include Daufuskie Island) beaches, sand bars and in its parks to disperse large gatherings of people.

We appreciate your cooperation and compliance with the governor's executive order and recommendations of social distancing.
