March 25, 2020
 
This Community Situation Report is intended to keep the community of Seward updated and aware of resources available to them while being challenged with restrictions placed upon them due to the Coronavirus.
 
HEALTHCARE
 

Providence Hospital
  • Use the online self-assessment tool found at www.providence.org if you have any healthcare concerns
  • Call ahead if you need to visit at 224-5205
   
Seward Mt. Haven
  • Closed to visitors
   
Seward Community Health Center
  • Front doors are locked; call ahead if you need to visit at 224-2273
  • Some appointments may be delayed or rescheduled for some patients
   
Chugachmiut/NorthStar
  • Doors closed to visitors

  • Store hours changed to: 6:00 am – 10:00 pm Daily
  • Special shopping time reserved for elders, pregnant women, and compromised immune system individuals from 7-9 am on Tuesdays & Thursdays
   
Pharmacy at Safeway
  • Hours, Mon-Sat 9 am – 7 pm PLUS special Pharmacy hours on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7-9 am to coincide with Safeway’s special shopping reserved hours
  • Prescription delivery is available; requests received by 1 pm will be delivered the same day; call 224-6960 to sign up

  • No cruise line updates available at this time
  • Passenger trains are cancelled; freight trains are running
   
Port
  • Crowley tugs leaving Seward with local workers to bring critical items (fuel, groceries and supplies) to western Alaska locations; adhering to strict health protocols
   
Chamber of Commerce
  • Assisting businesses with applying for SBA loans

Glacierview Apartments
  • Closed to visitors
  • Only medical and personal care representatives allowed
  • Delivery table set up at entrance; use intercom system to alert residents of deliveries
  • All common rooms closed
  • Following CDC cleaning protocols for shared areas

Police Department
  • Inbound calls to Seward 911 or Seward dispatch that require in person response will be required to answer screening questions to enable responders to adequately prepare
   
Sip ‘N Spin Laundromat
  • No more than 5 people in the building at one time
  • Laundry vouchers can be redeemed Mondays from 12 – 4 pm; laundry must be on site and done during this time
  • Sundays reserved for elders over 60 and anyone with compromised immune system
