Lancaster Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of an unknown vehicle who struck a pedestrian earlier in March.
On Thursday March 12, 2020 at approximately 9:42 am, a male pedestrian in his 40’s was walking northbound crossing the street at Avenue J-2 when an unidentified dark colored sedan, possibly an early 2000s Nissan Altima made an unsafe U-Turn and struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle made no attempt to stop and render aid to the pedestrian and as a result of the collision, the pedestrian suffered a broken leg and was transported to AVH for treatment.
Video surveillance on Sierra Highway and Avenue J-2 captured the incident and a blurred view of the vehicle when the pedestrian was struck.
