As part of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office response to COVID-19, the Licensing Unit was closed on March 17th and remains closed at this time. During this closure, all licensing functions have not been available to the community.
In an effort to keep the members of our community current with their business licenses' and within the law of various pertinent permits, the Licensing Unit will be opening on a limited basis (appointment only) to provide key services.
If you have a Licensing Unit request, please email [email protected]. Within the request please include what renewal request you are in need of and submit all required documents for your renewal. The Licensing Unit staff will process your requests and schedule appointments on Wednesday's for processing of the requests at the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Licensing Unit, 1350 Norris Road, Building A , Bakersfield, CA. 93308.
If your request requires the need for Live Scan fingerprinting, you will be contacted and advised when the office is providing full services. During the closure, inquiries can be directed to [email protected] . Please note that these inquiries will be placed in a que and only pertinent requests will be processed at this time. All others will be processed when the unit is reopened fully.
