The application process for the 100th WPD Academy closes on Friday; some required documents can be submitted at a later date:
The Wilmington Police Department continues to accept applications for the 100th Wilmington Police Academy.
The application period closes on Friday, March 27 at 4:30 p.m. EST. We encourage individuals to complete and submit applications, even if they are unable to secure some required documents due to closures related to Covid-19. Any outstanding required documents can be provided at a later date.
“We encourage those interested in joining the Wilmington Police Department to submit applications by the deadline this Friday,” said Chief Robert J. Tracy. “As long as someone submits their application by March 27, they will be considered as part of our application process.”
Chief Tracy added, “We hope that this flexibility will ensure that no interested applicant is unable to apply.”
Any outstanding documents would be required to be submitted by June 5 at 4:30 p.m.

The initial screening process will include a written exam, a physical agility test, and interview panels that will include a Chief’s interview.
