DONATE BLOOD:
The American Red Cross now faces a severe blood shortage due to an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations during this coronavirus outbreak. For more information visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/
NURSE VOLUNTEERS:
As we progress through this pandemic, the State of NJ may need additional health care professionals. Any nurse who wishes to volunteer may do so here: [email protected]
RUMOR CONTROL:
FEMA has started a webpage intended to help the public distinguish between rumors and facts regarding the response to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Rumors can easily circulate within communities during a crisis. Do your part to the stop the spread of disinformation by going to trusted sources of information to get the facts about the federal (COVID-19) response, include the FEMA Rumor Control Site, at https://www.fema.gov/coronavirus-rumor-control
AVOID SCAMS:
There have, unfortunately, been reports of scams run on unsuspecting individuals in other parts of NJ, involving scammers offering door to door testing for COVID-19, or soliciting victims by phone. Please keep in mind that legitimate authorities are not going to door-to-door or calling residents and soliciting money in exchange for testing.
Employers in critical industries should submit information about openings with urgent hiring needs related to COVID19 here: https://jobs.covid19.nj.gov/intake.
The jobs portal already has more than 12,000 openings and more are being added every day. These openings are in industries that are critical to New Jersey’s COVID-19 response, such as grocery stores, shipping and logistics, healthcare, janitorial services, human services, and warehousing. By connecting workers to these new openings, the tool will allow New Jersey residents to get back to work while increasing these key industries’ capacity to perform their essential duties.
