Deputies recover two stolen off-road motorcycles, multiple firearms, and ammunition at a home in Wonder Valley

DATE/TIME: March 22, 2020 1:38 p.m.

INCIDENT: Operating a chop shop, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting /Obstruction of an Officer.

LOCATION: 6200 block of Allen Avenue, Twentynine Palms.

SUSPECT(S): John Pratt, age 39 a resident of Twentynine Palms

Erik Edwards, age 40 year a resident of Twentynine Palms

Kayla Shrewsbury, age 31 a resident of Twentynine Palms

SUMMARY:
On March 22, 2020, deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Allen Avenue and Twentynine Palms Highway in the unincorporated area of Wonder Valley for a report of gunshots heard. During the investigation, deputies attempted to contact the residents of a home in the 6200 block of Allen Avenue. While on the scene, a stolen off-road motorcycle was discovered. A search warrant was authored and executed on the property. During the search warrant service, three subjects were located hiding inside the home. Erik Edwards and John Pratt were found to have active warrants for their arrest. During the search, deputies recovered two stolen off-road motorcycles, multiple firearms, and ammunition.
Edwards was arrested for resisting an executive officer, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition. Pratt was arrested for operating a chop shop, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and receiving stolen property. Pratt and Edwards were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.
Kayla Shrewsbury was arrested for resisting and obstructing an officer. Shrewsberry was released at the scene.
