OPD's COVID-19 response
Oxford P.D. update:
OPD has introduced convenient online reporting to encourage social distancing even when needing to make a police report. To find out what categories of reports can be made online, visit report.cityofoxford.org.
You might notice that we may be conducting business a little different in order to adhere to the social distancing guidelines. We may wear a mask, we may ask you to stay and talk from your car, front porch, or even we may opt to call you on the phone to discuss a report. It all depends on the situation.
A stay at home order was issued for Ohioans by Governor DeWine which took effect last night at 11:59 p.m. This is a mandatory order and unless you work for an essential business or are performing an essential activity, both of which are specifically defined in the order, you should stay home. Click on the stay at home order to read the details. It’s natural to have questions and how this could affect your life. Many of your questions may be answered for you in the frequently asked questions section of the Ohio Department of Health website.
Questions about your specific circumstance, business, or activity should first be researched by reading the stay at home order. If you cannot resolve your question, contact the Butler County General Health District, their website and contact info: http://health.bcohio.us/. Our Health Commissioner is the local authority on these matters. To learn more about the City of Oxford’s response to the COVID-19 threat visit our website.
Also, use restraint and common sense before calling to report another citizen whose activity you may believe does not comply with the stay at home order. Please read the order thoroughly in order to understand it and all of the exemptions that exist.
