Male arrested after early morning auto burglary

On Tuesday March 24th at 4:26 AM, an APD officer was patrolling through a parking lot in the 8300 block of Amarillo Boulevard West. The officer stopped Brenham Allen, a 20-year-old male, in the area of a vehicle that had been broken into. Officers found evidence linking Allen to the auto burglary. They were able to recover almost $8000 worth of stolen property at a separate location and return it to the owner. Allen was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Theft of Property Greater than or equal to $2500 but less than $30,000 and Unlawful Use of Criminal Instruments.

The APD Crime Prevention Unit wants to remind everyone not to leave anything of value in their vehicles that will be parked outside overnight. If you see anything suspicious, call the police department to report it. If you have fallen victim to a crime that you don’t notice until later, make a police report online or by phone. These reports will allow officers to direct patrol to the area in which the crime has occurred.
