GOVERNOR’S STAY-AT-HOME ORDER EFFECTIVE THRU
APRIL 7– SO FAR
APRIL 7– SO FAR
Remember that Governor Pritzker’s Stay-At-Home Order is in effect through April 7th – so far. I support the Governor’s strong approach and accept his willingness to take extraordinary action to implement the #1 job of government – assure your health & safety. Continue to refer to www.burrridge.gov for up-to-date information about this Order. Staff is available to answer your questions via phone or email at Village Hall (while still being closed to the public) and our Police are patrolling and responding to calls to ensure your continued safety. Chief Madden told me “All’s well in Burr Ridge” and compliance with the Order is proceeding. Today’s Tribune quotes the Mayor of Milan, Italy summing up our task: “this is a marathon, not a sprint.”1
PLEASE TELL OTHERS TO GIVE US THEIR CONTACT INFO. Times like these depend on the Village being able to keep everyone in Burr Ridge informed. Tell your Burr Ridge friends and neighbors (by phone, Facebook or email) to sign up for Nixle Alerts at www.burr-ridge.gov. Brookhaven Market is taking grocery orders online – www.brookhavenmarket.com. Its staff will fulfill your order and bring your order to your car if you are able to drive to the store. They will deliver your groceries as well as availability permits. If you prefer to shop in person, the best times to shop are when they open – 7:00 a.m., and at 8:30 p.m. before they close at 9:00 p.m.
Reminder: Burr Ridge based Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDC) – an affiliate of Advocate Health and part of the nation’s largest infectious disease medical group. MIDC has been working diligently to equip a medical tent in its parking lot at 901 McClintock Drive. Starting Monday, March 23, MIDC will be providing drive-up testing for COVID-19 for qualifying residents and other patients. To find out if you qualify and can be tested call (630) 655-8032 or if busy, (630) 654-4201. Burr Ridge resident Dr. Russ Petrak heads MIDC here – thanks, Russ!
I am firming up House Call volunteer medical visits for those residents who cannot go out, but need a doctor to see them. I have confirmed four medical doctors (MDs) and one registered nurse (RN) willing to volunteer to conduct any requested house calls. I am also confirming that they will have proper protective equipment to wear. I hope to have this solved by tomorrow.
Groot has advised us that its workers will not pick up loose garbage or recycle items left outside of a bin (e.g. lamps, broken items). Waste items must be in bags or inside a Groot provided bin.
Did you call a neighbor to see how they are doing – or simply to have a friendly chat?
