In an effort to further limit the potential spread of COVID-19, yesterday, the City of Sachse announced the closure of City Hall and the Public Safety building to the public. Residents will be able to work with staff via phone, email or by appointment only. These closures are in addition to the other facility closures announced on March 13. Additionally, the police department will now require citizens to report certain offenses/incidents via telephone. Dispatchers will screen calls to determine if officer response is needed or if the call can be expedited by an officer calling the citizen to complete the report via telephone. In-progress incidents, crimes involving violence, vehicle accidents, and offenses requiring evidence collection will have an officer respond to the scene.
