Nixle only provides 138 characters for SMS messages.  The Yorktown Police Department answers calls for service 24 hours per day, every day.  To best protect our employees and be able to provide essential police services to our community, the following protocols have been put in place:

The front doors of the Yorktown Police Department are locked.  Entry into the police department has been severely restricted.  There is an intercom outside that will be utilized for communication with front desk personnel.  You may also call the front desk at 962-4141 to state your business.  If entry to our lobby area is permitted, no more than two (2) people from the same party will be permitted entry.  You will need to provide full pedigree information to the on duty desk personnel prior to entering the headquarters lobby area.  We will not be accepting prescription drug drop off until further notice.  Child Car Seat Installations have also been suspended until further notice.

Again, Yorktown PD is activlely protecting and serving our community.  We have modified our response to certain calls for service, but we answer ALL calls for service in the most effective and safe manner possible for all parties involved.  Yorktown PD is also practicing CDC Guidance:  We Wash Our Hands.  We're Practicing Aggressive Social Distancing.  We're Avoiding Crowds.  We can all do our part to FLATTEN THE CURVE.  Stay Safe.  Be Smart.  Stay Healthy.
