Message from the Denville Fire Department Re: COVID-19 Response

PLEASE KEEP OUR DENVILLE FIRST RESPONDERS SAFE!!

If you or anyone in your household or place of business are experiencing flu-like symptoms or under mandatory or self-imposed quarantine due to a confirmed or possible COVID-19 exposure, please notify the 9-1-1 dispatcher when you call. We also ask that you please give an advanced warning to any first responders to take infection prevention precautions before they come into close contact with you or enter your home or business. We need to protect our personnel so they will be able to continue to assist our community. With the current situation, we have been monitoring and have imposed modified response protocols. If you believe you are symptomatic for COVID-19, contact the local Health Department or your primary care physician. Our first responders have been given proper instructions and equipment to protect our community.

We need to protect our crews so that they will be able to continue to meet the emergency needs of the community. Elsewhere, there have been entire fire companies quarantined after they have responded to quarantined homes and were not alerted before entering. Those first responders are now unavailable to help anyone else for at least 14 days.

In our department we CANNOT afford to have this happen. And being VOLUNTEERS we do not want to have to take it home to our families.

Thank you for your understanding
BE SAFE AND HEALTHY!
