An important update regarding City services

Important information regarding City services:
 
Linden still has only 1 confirmed case of the Covid-19 virus. In Union County there are 15 cases, and 267 confirmed cases statewide (information as of 3/17).  If you have any questions concerning the Coronavirus please don’t hesitate to call the Linden Board of Health Office at 908-474-8420 or [email protected]. Residents can also contact the NJ Coronavirus Emergency Hotline at 1-800-222-1222.
 
Effective today, Linden City Hall and the Linden Recreation building are closed to the public. All Departments do remain open and will answer any questions you may have. The specific contact information for each department can be found on our website at www.Linden-nj.org.
 
The Linden Public Library, Multi-Purpose Center, P.A.L. Building, and John T. Gregorio Recreation Center are also closed until further notice.
 
The Police Desk and Records Bureau remain open. Residents may enter through the main entrance in the Parking Garage. Residents reporting crimes such as fraud and financial crimes, identity theft, lost property, minor thefts, and harassment (excluding domestic violence) are encouraged to do so over the phone by calling our non-emergency number, (908) 474-8500. The issuing of ABC, Taxi, and Solicitor’s licenses has been suspended. Any questions should be referred to the Detective Bureau at (908) 474-8537.
 
Alternate side of the street parking rules are suspended until 3/27. Residents are reminded that all other parking rules remain in effect and will be enforced. Public Works will continue to sweep streets during this period, and residents who are able are encouraged to move their vehicles during designated times to assist in their efforts.
 
Municipal Court sessions remain suspended. Defendants may continue to make payments through the Municipal Court online payment system at NJMCDirect.com, via mail, or by depositing it in the drop box located in the lobby of Police Headquarters. Please note: the Police Officer at the desk cannot accept payments or give receipts. Please contact the Court Clerk at (908) 474-8423 with any questions.

Residents can continue to make tax payments online at https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/Wipp/?wippid=2009. Additionally, payments may be deposited in the Municipal Court drop box located in the lobby of Police Headquarters. Payments should be made in an envelope clearly marked “Tax Collector”. Please note: the Police Officer at the desk cannot accept payments or give receipts. Please call the Tax Office at (908) 474-8434 with any questions.

Public Works services will continue according to normal schedules. In house sewer services, however, are suspended until further notice. Please call (908) 474-8666 with any questions
 
The Linden Public Schools Grab and Go Lunch Program for students remains available for all school age children. Lunches can be picked up 11am-1pm at the Linden High School on the Ainsworth St side, gym entrance, School #2 on the West 17th St side and School #5 on the East Curtis St side, rear door. While all County & City parks remain open, playgrounds are closed until further notice. Permits for activities are postponed.
