Flood Warning until 11:15AM

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Rockwall County in north central Texas... Southeastern Collin County in north central Texas... Dallas County in north central Texas...

* Until 1115 AM CDT.

* At 814 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall has move east out of eastern Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. However, soils are very saturated in this area and excessive runoff will cause any smaller streams and creeks to exceed their banks resulting in continued flooding of low water crossings and other adjacent low lying areas in the eastern Metroplex. Ponding of water is also likely near or under some highway underpasses, especially within immediate urban areas where drainage is poor.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dallas, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Carrollton, Richardson, Rowlett, Desoto, Grapevine, Cedar Hill, Wylie, Coppell, Duncanville, Rockwall, Lancaster, Farmers Branch, Balch Springs, University Park and Sachse.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COLLIN, TX ... ROCKWALL, TX ... DALLAS, TX

Instructions:

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away. Excessive runoff from previous heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, and low spots along highways, streets,and underpasses, as well as other drainage areas.
