The Best Ways to Contact NBPD

The Newport Beach Police Department is committed to giving our community the highest quality police service while taking necessary precautions to keep our community members & department personnel safe and healthy. We are here for you 24/7, so we want you to know the best ways to reach us right now if you need assistance.

As always, for emergencies you should dial 9-1-1. If you need an officer to respond to your location for a non-emergency situation, you can call the non-emergency dispatch line at 949-644-3717.

At this time, we encourage you to call the Front Desk for questions or concerns instead of coming to the Police Station. Our Front Desk staff can help determine how we can best serve you without you making a trip over to the department. The Front Desk can be reached at 949-644-3681.

Please keep in mind that certain types of police reports can be filed online at including:

  • Lost Property
  • Theft (loss value of $950 or under)
  • Theft from a Vehicle (loss value of $950 or under)
  • Vandalism (damages of under $400)
  • Vandalism of a Vehicle (damages of under $400)
  • Harassing Phone Calls
  • Identity Theft & Fraud*
Examples & more details about reporting each of these types of crimes is available the Police Department website. You can also call the Front Desk with questions about online reports, 949-644-3681.

* Under normal circumstances, we don’t take Identity Theft & Fraud reports online, but while social distancing measures are in place, we are accepting them.

We will continue to keep you updated with information about NBPD via Nixle & our social media accounts.
