Community

Covid 19-Coronavirus scam alert.

Our community, counties, state, nation and the world are experiencing something that many of us have never been through. However, we have seen terrible times. In times of like these, we hear so many stories of heroics, and neighbors coming together, and people helping people. During these are trying times, let’s work together, be those neighbors coming together, and people helping people.

We have received a few calls at the PD about scammers already calling people regarding the Covid19-coronavirus. Truly, there are some evil people out there. Please remember to guard your identity and self. Ask questions. Never give money before you get a product. Ask someone that you trust, don’t take a stranger’s word for it, especially over the phone or internet, and especially if you’ve never met them. Over the next few days, weeks, and months, the scammers will be changing their tactics and trying their best to get what they can from you. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!

Please contact APD Crime Prevention if you have any questions. Our phone number is 806-378-4257. Or you can email us [email protected].
