MORRIS SCHOOL DISTRICT LUNCH PROCEDURES DURING VIRTUAL LEARNING DAYS

MORRIS SCHOOL DISTRICT
LUNCH PROCEDURES DURING VIRTUAL LEARNING DAYS
Throughout the period of virtual learning, the Morris School District will be providing lunch for students who have qualified for free and reduced lunch. The meals must be picked up at one of the locations below during the specified times and taken home. The cafeterias will not be open during this time, and there will be no access to our school buildings. Any meal not consumed within one (1) hour of pick up should be refrigerated.
Pickup Days:
Bagged meals will be available for pickup beginning Wednesday, March 18. This service will continue for the duration of the virtual learning period, Monday through Friday, according to the school calendar. Please refer to the Coronavirus Update Center on the Morris School District website for any updates to school closure information.
Pickup Times:
Students in grades PreK-5: From 11 am to 12 pm
Students in grades 6-12: From 12 pm to 1 pm.
For families with students in both groups, you may pick up your meal at either of these designated times.
Pickup Locations:
At each location, there will be school staff and visual markers in the parking lot to direct you to the pickup area. The locations are:
#1: Morristown High School, 50 Early Street. Please use the rear entry (staff parking lot) along Atno Avenue.
#2: Alfred Vail School, 125 Speedwell Avenue. Please use the main entry on Speedwell and continue straight.
Procedure:
Please drive or walk up to the designated area. Inform the food service worker of the number of students you are picking up a lunch for, and you will be handed a complete, bagged meal for each student. Students who qualify for reduced lunch will not be charged for their meals during the period of virtual learning.
Meal Available:
There will be one option available daily, either a cold meal or hot meal, which will include a fruit, vegetable, and milk. Juice will be available for children with a milk allergy, upon request. If you have any dietary restrictions, please notify the food service worker at pickup.
