Shannon Smith of Adelanto was arrested after deputies found him in possession of 60 grams of cocaine & a firearm

SUSPECT: Shannon Smith, 47-years-old, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Monday, March 16, 2020 at approximately 11:37 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to the 12000 block of Redwing Road regarding a domestic disturbance call. Upon arrival, Deputy Faylor learned the victim and her boyfriend, Teddy Mixson a 37-year-old resident of Apple Valley, had been involved in a domestic dispute. Mixson left the location prior to Deputy Faylors arrival but the victim was able to provide a description of the vehicle he was in. A short time later, Deputy Griego located a vehicle matching the description at the Circle K located at 20920 Bear Valley Road. Deputy Griego contacted the driver Shannon Smith, a 47-year-old resident of Apple Valley, and found 60 grams of cocaine and $840 in US currency in his pant pockets. Mixson was in the passenger seat of the vehicle and was found to have a misdemeanor warrant. During an inventory search of the vehicle a stolen Smith & Wesson 9mm, containing a high capacity magazine, was located in the center console.
Shannon Smith was arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for being in violation of; A Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales and Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed. Mixson was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center on the misdemeanor warrant.
