In response to COVID-19, the City of Roanoke will be making changes to facility hours & operations effective 3/17.

Out of caution and in an effort to follow the recommendations from Denton County in response to the public health emergency declaration stemmed from COVID-19, the City of Roanoke will be making a number of changes to facility hours and operations effective Tuesday, March 17 through Sunday, March 29:
 
Roanoke City Hall: Remains open at this time. 

  • Utility Billing: Payments via phone, website, ACH withdrawal and drop box use are highly encouraged to reduce social interaction.
    • Issues making an on-time payment will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For more information, contact the utility billing office at 817-491-2411.  
  • Permits: Applications submitted online and payments via phone are highly encouraged to reduce social interaction.
    • Pre-construction meetings to be held by conference call.
 
Roanoke Municipal Court: Remains open at this time.
  • Public court dockets scheduled for March 24, March 26, April 7 will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • Payments via phone and website are highly encouraged to reduce social interaction.
 
Roanoke Police Department: Remains open at this time. 
  • Highly encourage the public to call the station versus visiting to reduce social interaction.
 
Roanoke Fire Department: Station doors will be closed to the public to protect the EOC. 
  • Station tours, CFA, ride-outs, awards banquet all postponed until further notice.
 
Roanoke Public Library: Closed through Sunday, March 29.
  • Library will exercise a grace-period on returns until further notice.
  • Library drop-box still accessible. 
 
Roanoke Recreation Center: Closed through Sunday, March 29.
  • All scheduled classes/programming canceled. 
 
Roanoke Community/Senior Center: Closed through Sunday, March 29.
  • Metroport Meals on Wheels will have drive-thru lunch service for seniors Wednesdays at noon.
 
Roanoke Visitor’s Center & Museum: Closed through Sunday, March 29.
 
Roanoke Public Works
  • Dumpster closed to the public through Sunday, March 29.
 
City Parks: OPEN
 
City Meetings: Meetings of the Roanoke City Council, as well as city boards and commissions, will continue as scheduled. Meeting minutes will be available online. 
 
City Events: CANCELED including Roanoke’s Easter EggAPalooza on April 4 and the Roanoke Roundup on May 2. POSTPONED events include the Evenings on Oak Street Spring concert series and the Roanoke Farmers Market (dates TBD). 
 
Non-City Events: Non-city private events have been canceled through the 1st week of June. Requests to host special events on City property are not accepted at this time.
