Good evening, this is Mayor Jim Gasparini with an update regarding the Township’s response to the COVID-19 emergency. We are continually monitoring the events throughout the state and the nation and are formulating all of our decisions regarding our response with the utmost concern for the safety of our residents and employees.
Effective today, March 16, 2020, all township recreational facilities, ballfields, playgrounds, basketball courts and walking paths will be closed to the public until further notice. In addition, all meetings of the various Township committees and boards have been postponed until further notice with the exception of the March 23^rd meeting of the Mayor and Council. As usual, this meeting will be broadcast live on channels 34 and 43; however members of the public will not be permitted to attend in person. Instead, they will be able to call in to the meeting with their comments or questions on a dedicated phone line.
Pursuant to an executive order issued by Governor Murphy today, all restaurants in the township will be open only for takeout and delivery orders starting after 8 PM this evening. Additionally all gyms, fitness centers and classes will be closed starting after 8 PM this evening as well.

Please remember if we all do our part as recommended by the CDC, wash our hands frequently, contain coughs into a tissue or elbow, stay home when not feeling well, clean surfaces frequently AND USE SOCIAL DISTANCING we will mitigate the spread of this virus much sooner.
