Community

Serving our communities during an uncertain time

We know that the Coronavirus outbreak is causing disruption, fear, and concern in our communities. We want to reassure you that CMPA is here for you and we are working closely with our public safety and public health partners to protect and serve our communities in this continually evolving situation.

We are taking extra precautions when responding to calls and in between to help prevent the spread of the virus. We are implementing all the recommended proactive measures including washing hands frequently, maintaining six feet of social space with each other and the public, and wiping down our vehicles, equipment, and workstations frequently. We have also suspended station tours and meetings in our facility. Our Community Room has been closed to the public and all reservations have been cancelled for the next four weeks.

So much information is coming at us continually and it can be overwhelming. However, it’s crucial to rely on factual, reliable information sources and not fall prey to social media rumors. Marin Health and Human Services COVID-19 webpage should be your first stop for info: https://coronavirus.marinhhs.org. You may also direct COVID-19 questions to the County’s Communicable Disease & Prevention Unit by email at
[email protected] . (Please note - if you are feeling sick, you should call your primary care doctor or nurse advice line.)

Other sources of up-to-date, reliable information can be found here:

• CDC Novel Coronavirus Information: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov
• California Department of Public Health Coronavirus updates: https://ww.cdph.ca.gov/covid19

These uncertain times can be a stressful and emotional period for many in our families and communities. Go to https://www.marinhhs.org/bhrs for information and phone numbers for mental health resources available 24/7.

It’s not easy to do but it’s very important to stay calm and listen to the advice from our public health professionals. Rely on trusted sources for information updates. Practice good hygiene and social distancing. Be kind to yourself and to others.

We’re all in this together, and that’s how we’ll get through – together.
