CITY CONTINUES TO BE READY FOR POTENTIAL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) IMPACTS

ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA (Updated 3/14/20) – On March 13, 2020, the County of San Luis Obispo declared a public health emergency and the County Emergency Services Director also proclaimed a local emergency. County Public Health has reported there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in San Luis Obispo County, but the declaration and proclamation will help the County access additional resources as needed.

The City of Arroyo Grande understands the concerns expressed by residents regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus and wants to assure the public that the City is prepared and will continue core services to residents, businesses, and visitors. The City does anticipate some changes in additional services or programs and small changes in business practices including:

•    Closure of City of Arroyo Grande Play & Learn Pre-school and Children in Motion before and after-school programs effective March 16, 2020 until further notice due to the notice of school closures by the Lucia Mar Unified School District; and

•    (UPDATED 3/14/20) Closure of the Woman’s Club and Mark M. Millis Community Centers for classes and group programming effective immediately until further notice; and

 •    (UPDATED 3/14/20) Closure of Soto Sports Complex for league and recreational play effective immediately until further notice; and

•    (UPDATED 3/14/20) Cancellation of all Recreation sports, programs and classes effective immediately until further notice; and

 •    Encouraging those with city business to consider contacting City offices by telephone or email first, rather than a visit, in an effort to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We understand that this is sometimes not possible.

The City will post notifications at all City facilities and communicate any additional changes through press releases, social media, and the City’s website at www.arroyogrande.org.
