Effective Immediately:

  • All City-sponsored sports programs have been suspended.

  • All City-sponsored events will be canceled (Eggstravaganza, Sr. Events, Skate Contests, etc.)

  • The City will continue to monitor the situation and consider canceling other future events as necessary.

  • New reservations of facilities at Montebello Parks including picnic areas will be suspended. Effective Tuesday, March 17th.

  • Holifield Park Community Center, Reggie Rodriguez Park Community Center, Cathy Hensel Gym and Youth Center and the Senior Center will be temporarily closed to the public.

  • Public Parks will be closed to the public: athletic field lighting will not be turned on, restrooms closed; park security lighting will remain on.

  • Stoppage of all events or conferences on City-owned properties anticipated to attract more than 50 people (including youth sports organizations).

  • Cancellation of city-sponsored classes and programs at all City facilities and parks.

  • The Senior Congregate meal program provided by the YWCA will only distribute five take-home frozen meals to registered participants on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. in the Sr. Center parking lot in a manner that limits contact. The Sr. Center will not be open for the daily meals and those picking up meals will not be allowed to congregate around the facility.

  • Cancellation/postponement of Golf Tournaments with an excess of 50 participants

Our Extended Child Care Programs at our MUSD school sites remain open provided that the school site remains open or until further notice or action is taken by the City. Staff will advise parents to pick up their children from our child care sites if they are ill.  Additionally, our staff will not report to work if they are ill.
