SUSPECT VEHICLE: 1999 green Honda Accord

On March 10, 2020, at approximately 1:37 A.M., a victim reported that a green Honda Accord sedan occupied by several males followed him as he was walking along the 1249 block of Great Mall Drive. Without provocation, the driver and Moreno exited the vehicle and approached him. Moreno brandished a black handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim immediately ran away, and the suspects chased him. Milpitas Police officers arrived on scene within two minutes and spotted the suspect vehicle.

The suspects fled the scene and a Milpitas Police officer initiated a vehicle pursuit. The officer pursued the suspect vehicle for approximately four miles until it crashed into a light pole in the City of San Jose. Moreno and four (4) juveniles were apprehended without further incident. The driver, a 17-year-old male, sustained moderate injuries to his head and spine as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Moreno was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for brandishing a firearm. The driver was cited and released to his parents at the hospital for felony vehicle evasion. The other three juvenile suspects were cited and released to their parents for curfew violation. Milpitas Police officers conducted an extensive search for the handgun but did not locate it.
