A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with a 2017 murder.
 
On July 14, 2017 at approximately 11:26 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of West 3rd Street in reference to a shooting incident. Police located a 22-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Cyree Watson.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Mary Quinn of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of her investigation, Detective Quinn identified 28-year-old Clarence Rivera as a suspect in the case.
 
On March 2, she presented her case to a New Castle County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment against Rivera. He was taken into custody without incident on March 3, and has been charged with the following offenses:

• Murder (First Degree)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
