Northfield Twp Police handled 382 calls for service this month.

02/03/2020 *Assault and Battery –
500 Garnett St – A victim reported that on 02/02/2020 for unknown reasons two females approached his vehicle while he was waiting for a friend and began yelling at him. The incident escalated and one female struck the victim in the face and then threw a drink on him. The investigation revealed the suspects identities and belief that an assault had taken place. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office pending charges.

02/05/2020 *Arrest - Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense & Possession of a Narcotic
1800 Block of Seven Mile Rd – Officers responded to a car / tree crash with the vehicle on its’ side. The investigation revealed that the driver was driving while intoxicated. The 28 year old male driver stated he was not injured, and he was arrested. After the arrest, his breath test confirmed alcohol consumption and the subject was found to be in possession of a barbiturate. The subject was lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.

02/10/2020- *Lost or Stolen Prescriptions –
A complainant reported that after returning from the VA via a Lyft ride; the complainant believes he left his bag of prescriptions in the Lyft vehicle. The complainant has not been able to recover his medications which contain a controlled substance. The case remains under investigation

02/13/2020 *Home Invasion
5200 Block of Arbor North – An Officer responded to an alarm and arrived to discover fresh tire tracks in the driveway – further the officer discovered a broken door frame and evidence of forced entry. The Officer also discovered the rear door partially open. Officers entered and cleared the home, finding no one inside. The homeowner arrived and walked through with officers. The homeowner did not initially determine if anything was missing, but confirmed some drawers had been opened and some property disturbed. The case remains under investigation.

02/18/2020 *Larceny from Building
7900 Block of Coyle- An Officer received a report that while the complainant was away from his home, a roommate is believed to have taken his debit card without his permission. Someone attempted to unsuccessfully use his card at two locations. Although the complainant did not incur charges against his account, he wanted to report the theft. The case remains under investigation.

02/20/2020 *Arrest – Driving on a Suspended License
U.S 23 & Barker – An Officer observed a traffic violation(no headlight) and upon a traffic stop discovered the license plate was expired and the driver was driving on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was impounded.

02/27/2020 *Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
8600 Block of Main – A complaint was reported that someone had attempted to use two different credit cards that had been previously discarded in the trash. Although the transactions were denied, the case remains open.
