Last week, on Wednesday 2/26/20 around 1:50pm, Novato Police Officers were out patrolling the area of Redwood Boulevard and Rush Creek Place in an effort to prevent crime in the area. An officer noticed multiple bags of luggage outside of a hotel that appeared to be unattended. A short while later, the officer contacted Jonathan Linares (age 30) nearby, who said the luggage belonged to him. It was also discovered that Linares had been a guest of the hotel the night before.

K-9 Nova conducted a “sniff” of the bag and received a positive alert for narcotics. A search revealed suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia and stolen property. Linares was subsequently arrested.
