Deputies arrest Savahanna Leann McDonald of Cedar Glen for assault with a caustic chemical

DATE/TIME: February 23,2020 8:15 p.m.

INCIDENT: Assault with a Caustic Chemical

LOCATION: 200 block of Lilac Way, Cedar GLen

SUSPECT(S): Savahanna Leann McDonald, a 31-year-old resident of Cedar Glen

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 23, 2020, at approximately 8:15 p.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station responded to the 200 block of Lilac Way, in the community of Cedar Glen, reference a person who was assaulted with a "caustic chemical," later determined to be bleach. According to the information obtained at the scene of the crime, the victim was approached by an unidentified female outside their residence and an argument ensued when the female would not leave. During the argument, the suspect threw a bottle of bleach into the victim's face and fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Through a subsequent investigation, the suspect was positively identified, through a series of photographic line-ups, as Savahanna Leann McDonald. A search for McDonald followed the investigation, but McDonald was not found, and the Twin Peaks Detective's Bureau authored an arrest warrant for McDonald, with a bail amount set at $50,000.00.

On Friday, February 28, 2020, deputies from the Twin Peaks Station began an extensive search for McDonald. At approximately 5:15 p.m., deputies located McDonald in the 100 block of Craghill Drive, in the community of Cedar Glen. McDonald was peacefully taken into custody for the assault five days prior.

Savahanna McDonald was arrested for violation of Penal Code Section 244, assaut with a caustic chemical. McDonald was booked at West Valley Detention Center where she is being held on a $50,000.00 bail.
