Sonoma County Inmate dies at local hospital
Sonoma County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating the death of an inmate.
At approximately 6:30 pm, yesterday evening, a 56-year-old Sonoma County Jail inmate died at a local hospital. The decedent was admitted into the hospital on February 25 for a pre-existing medical condition.
This is considered an in-custody death because the decedent was still in our custody. The decedent was booked into the Main Adult Detention Facility on January 22, for DUI and other pending charges.
The identity of the decedent will not be released at this time until family or the next of kin have been adequately notified. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Our sincere condolences go out to the decedent's family and friends.
