Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for robbing a man in a parking lot in Central Islip.
 
Third Precinct officers on a routine patrol in an unmarked police vehicle observed Jerry McKoy striking Elias Ortiz-Campos during a robbery in the parking lot of Laundry Palace, located at 18 E. Suffolk Ave. at 1:34 a.m. The officers intervened and arrested McKoy.
 
Ortiz-Campos, 44, of Central Islip, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
McKoy, 54, of Central Islip, was charged with Robbery 1^st Degree and for an outstanding warrant. He is being held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip in the morning.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
