Armed Robbery at Dollar General

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 02/28/2020 at 1830 hours, his office was called to investigate an armed robbery that occurred at the Dollar Store in Vandalia, Penn Township, Cass County Michigan. Investigation showed that a male individual came into the Dollar General Store, and led an employee to believe that he had a weapon while requesting money. After giving this individual the money, he left the store, then entered an occupied car requesting a ride. After this individual was denied a ride, he then left on foot. K-9 Faust was deployed for a track of the suspect. This individual, a 32 year old male, was located a short time later at an address on Mulberry Street in Vandalia, where he was placed under arrest for armed robbery. The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment in the 4th District Court. This investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
