Important Public Health Advisory - Within the last week, the Lawrence Township Health Department was notified of a raccoon on Rosedale Road in Lawrence Township. The raccoon was in contact with neighborhood pets and it was tested by the New Jersey State Health Department Laboratory and determined to be positive for rabies. It is important for public health reasons to determine if anyone was in contact with this raccoon. Please call the Lawrence Township Animal Control Officer at 844-7092 if you know of any human or domestic pet that may have been in contact with this raccoon in the past fourteen days. Senior Connect - Lawrence Township has put together a new booklet entitled Senior Connect. This will be a bi-weekly publication which will include various articles and information taken from our website, Facebook and Twitter. New Jersey American Water Treatment Change - As part of an annual maintenance program for its water distribution system, New Jersey American Water will temporarily change the water treatment process from a chloramine (combined) residual to free chlorine residual at the company’s Raritan-Millstone and Canal Road Water Treatment plants. These surface water treatment plants serve New Jersey American Water customers in the following counties: Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset and Union. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR RECYCLING
The week of March 2 is Zone 1.
Only those residents in Zone 1 should put out brush for pick-up.
Thank you for your cooperation.
All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the
Township of Lawrence by March 31st.
If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The Ecological Facility is now closed on Saturdays.
