Winter Weather Advisory until 07:00PM Wednesday

* WHAT...There will be two periods of snowfall that will impact the advisory area over the next 24 hours. The leading burst of snowfall has already moved into the I-94 area and will expand to the I-96 area by 9 pm. This first burst of snow will bring 1 to 2 inches of snow by the time it weakens after midnight. The second period of snowfall moves into the I-94 and I-69 corridoor by sunrise. That period of snowfall is expected to bring the 3 to 6 inches of snow with gusty winds and falling temperatures. Snowfall on Wednesday is expected to be heavy at times with gusty winds resulting in some blowing and drifting snow.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Michigan.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on snow covered roads with low visibility during the daytime hours of Wednesday. Anticipate slowing travel on area roads. The conditions will be hazardous through the daytime hours of Wednesday, however conditions will be significantly more impacted during the afternoon and evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The storm will intensify Wednesday resulting in increasing winds. This will lead to periods of near zero visibility due the combination of falling and blowing snow. If at all possible try to avoid travel in the advisory area, especially Wednesday afternoon.
