Man Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash
Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a Medford man today.
A man was driving a 1996 Toyota 4Runner on the westbound Long Island Expressway, near exit 56, when he swerved to avoid striking a vehicle that had slowed for construction at approximately 10:20 a.m. The vehicle overturned, ejecting the driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The man was transported via helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
