The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Crawford County in southeastern Kansas... Barton County in southwestern Missouri... Newton County in southwestern Missouri... Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 430 PM CST Monday.

* At 533 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated scattered thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. The additional rainfall from these thunderstorms in addition to the one to two inches of rain that have already fallen across the warned area will result in flooding of sensitive low water crossings and streams.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding. Locations in the warning include... Joplin... Pittsburg... Carthage... Neosho... Webb City... Prairie State Park... Carl Junction... Lamar... Baxter Springs... Frontenac... Columbus... Galena... Girard... Oronogo... Seneca... Granby... Carterville... Duquesne... Arma... Sarcoxie... This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water crossings... North Main and Murphy Boulevard In Joplin... Business Highway 60 just north of Neosho... Highway 37 at The Spring River southwest of Avilla... Route K at Dry Wood Creek east of Arcadia... and Route JJ at Center Creek southeast of Carl Junction. Additional rainfall amounts of a half to one inch are possible in the warned area.
