Unattended Death

On February 17, 2020, at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Redwood City Police Department received a call asking officers to conduct a welfare check of an individual who resided in a trailer located in the 2100 block of Spring Street, Redwood City. The caller was a friend of the individual and had discovered him down and unresponsive in the trailer. Redwood City Police Officers, along with Redwood City Fire Fighters and Paramedics, responded to the scene to investigate. The individual, a 57-year-old Redwood City resident, was found deceased inside the trailer. There were no signs of foul play or evidence of a crime. The San Mateo County Coroner responded to the scene and took over the investigation. The Coroner’s initial investigation did not uncover any obvious signs of trauma, but the final cause of death will be determined by autopsy.
