Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Hit-and-Run Crash
Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that
seriously injured a pedestrian in Farmingville last night.
Sixth Precinct Patrol officers responded to a report of an injured pedestrian at the intersection of Portion Road and North Morris Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an injured man lying in the roadway.
The victim, Gabriel Perez, 24, of Farmingville, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition. Following an investigation, detectives determined the man was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad 631-854-8652 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
