*UPD* LASD Homicide Detectives Responding to Death Investigation, 5700 block of Beverly Blvd, East Los Angeles
Los Angeles County Sheriff Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a 33 year old Hispanic man in East Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 10:35 PM, deputies from East Los Angeles Station responded to a bus stop on the southwest corner of Beverly Boulevard and Gerhart Avenue regarding a call of a stabbing victim. Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. The male was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have learned the victim had become involved in a verbal, then physical, altercation with two Hispanic males that rode up to him on bicycles while he was awaiting a bus. It appears the victim was stabbed at least once in the course of the physical altercation.
The suspects remain at large. They were last seen riding bicycles away from the scene, southbound on Gerhart Avenue.
This murder is being investigated as gang related.
