Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with April 2019 murder:

A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with an April 2019 murder.
 
On April 3, 2019 at approximately 9:01 p.m., police were called to the 1400 block of West Third Street in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Arriving officers located a gunshot victim and immediately began rendering aid. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as 31-year-old Kevis Tyler.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Brian Conkey of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Conkey identified 44-year-old Terrell Mobley as a suspect.
 
On February 17, Detective Conkey presented the case to a New Castle County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment on the following charges:

  • Murder (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Two Counts)
  • Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
Mobley was arraigned in the New Castle County Superior Court and given $1,088,000 cash-only bail. Mobley was already in custody related to charges filed by the Wilmington Police Department in June 2019 in connection with an October 2018 homicide, and remains committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
