Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with April 2019 murder:
A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in an arrest in connection with an April 2019 murder.
On April 3, 2019 at approximately 9:01 p.m., police were called to the 1400 block of West Third Street in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Arriving officers located a gunshot victim and immediately began rendering aid. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as 31-year-old Kevis Tyler.
The case was assigned to Detective Brian Conkey of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Conkey identified 44-year-old Terrell Mobley as a suspect.
On February 17, Detective Conkey presented the case to a New Castle County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment on the following charges:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Two Counts)
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
