Getting To Know IMPD - In Honor of Black History Month
Senobia Pervine has worked for IPD/IMPD for the past 40 years. Senobia is currently assigned to the Victim’s Assistance Unit. The Victims Assistance Unit is responsible for providing direct assistance to anyone who suffers directly or indirectly, or a physical, emotional, or personal loss as result of a criminal act. This Unit transports victims and witnesses to courts, hospital visits, assist with protective orders and provide a host of services to members of our community. Members of the unit are known for being good listeners, trustworthy and a great support to our investigative units.
Pervine began her career during a summer program initiative back in 1980. She has worked in Auto Desk, Team Policing (Burglary, Robbery, Homicide) and was the keeper of statistics for various grants. From here she landed in Victims Assistance and found her home and has continued to work with victims. Senobia said, “This has been an interesting place to work, and a great place to learn”. The impact that this unit provides to the department is invaluable. Pervine’s passion for her job and colleagues is evident. Senobia fights for victims when they can’t fight for themselves. A large portion of the role is to advocate for the voiceless.
